MYSTERY MAVENS

Mystery Mavens does not meet in April.  Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 6PM at The Original Roadhouse Grill, 15156 Whittier Blvd., Whittier, CA 90603, near Whittwood.  Our May 15 book will be Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn.  It will be reviewed by Jackie Brearley.  Jackie nominated this book last year, and here is what she had to say about it.  “When I buy a hardback book I have to read at least a third of the book before I give up and send it to the Book Depot.  By the time I was a quarter of the way through this book, I just couldn’t put it down.  It’s like a James Bond or Marvel comic book for senior ladies.  I enjoyed it so much.”  This is our final book until we begin again in September.

At our May 15 meeting we will choose our five mysteries for 2024-2025.  Please send your nominated book descriptions to Sharon (s.heck4peace@gmail.com) as soon as possible so she can begin preparing the ballot.  The book should be the first in a series, and the back cover of the book usually contains a good introduction to share with us.  All are welcome to join us.
