It’s been nearly one year since we lost our dear friend, Gwen Woirhaye. Her loss is still ever present, she was such a vital member of our branch and a great friend. Looking through the yearbook you can see some of the distinctions she earned in AAUW; 50-year member, Past President, AAUW Fund Named Gift Honoree, and Las Distinguidas. However, she was also a member of the Judith Papp Legacy Circle. And now, we have some good news that is another legacy in her memory. The photo shown is her husband Mahlon Woirhaye presenting Barbara Gile with a check for $100,000 from Gwen’s estate for the Myra Long Scholarship Fund! We understand she also gifted AAUW Education Fund with the same amount.
