THE HODGE FOUNDATION

The Hodge Foundation is a public endowment fund that has provided funds to supplement the library’s budget for books and other printed materials.  GWA-AAUW honors our members who have passed away by donating a book in their memory through the Hodge Foundation.

The Hodge Foundation has expanded their giving and partnered with the NICU at PIH. Bilingual picture books are being purchased for patients and their parents for the reading journey from birth to adulthood.  This gives the families a purpose while they are staying in the unit.  As the books are read, they accrue points and have circles that will create a bookworm.  On Saturday, November 9, 2024, PIH Health Whittier Hospital celebrated the 50th anniversary of the NICU.

Paymaneh Maghsoudi, Whittier Central Library Director, thanked the Hodge Foundation for supporting the library. She stated how lucky they are to have the support of the Hodge.
