The Greater Whittier Area AAUW Branch is approaching its 99th year! We have been active in advancing equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy for many years. As Membership Committee Chair, this is The Year of Growth. I am inviting each of you throughout the year to help us continue the work of AAUW by inviting your friends, family members and casual acquaintances, such as women in a yoga class, book clubs and other groups you attend, to join us. Invite a guest to a book club meeting, first Friday or a branch meeting. The committee is happy to contact any leads you may have. You can share the AAUW flyer on page 5 and/or email us at MembershipGWA@gmail.com with leads.
Upcoming Events:
We will have a fundraiser at Really Great Stuff this December 11th through 14th, and another in spring April 2nd through the 5th. Karen Van der Baan has graciously volunteered to chair those fundraisers, so watch for more information in future newsletters and at our Branch meetings. See the page 6 for the flyer for this upcoming event.
We will be hosting a Meet and Greet later in the year. SAVE THE DATE of Saturday March 22, 2025 at 10-11:30 AM at First Friends Church. Begin thinking of who you might invite.

Membership Renewals
Dues are now $116, which includes your membership in the California and national AAUW organizations. You can pay your dues on the national website, AAUW.org, or send a check (easiest). Please send to: Kay Clark, 11915 Inez St., #8, Whittier, CA 90605. Checks should be made out to GWA AAUW. We hope all of you will continue your support of AAUW and remain a member of our Branch – GWA AAUW.
